New Community Event: Second Saturday Sangha

By January 27, 2024February 16th, 2024No Comments

Join us for the first-ever HYA Sangha, which will be held monthly on every Second Saturday of the month! In March, it is also our workshop for the flow category. The workshop counts as two classes toward the Flow category in the Challenge for Diversity!

When: Saturday, March 9

5:30-7:30pm

Where: Mountain Room

Cost: Sliding scale ($10-30 recommended)

Led by the talented Joel Davis, this opportunity is a chance to dive deeper into the yogic world to experience the full depth of what the ancient yogic traditions have to offer.

The wisdom, teachings and practice of yoga are so much more than just a physical practice, and in this
class we will open with a short Kirtan (songs/chants lead by call, response and group singing), followed by a discussion of yogic philosophical ideas and concepts and how they apply to our modern lives, drop into a group meditation and then close with a mindful, meditative candlelit slow flow with an extended sivasana sound experience.

Sangha is a Sanskrit word that translates to “community.” HYA has one of the strongest communities and this is the perfect opportunity to further deepen that connection

What you will need for these sessions are comfortable clothes to sit and flow in, yoga mat, meditation cushion or pillow to sit on, a bottle of water, a journal to take notes if you would like, and an open mind and heart to explore the ancient wisdom of yoga in a lightly heated room!

On an ongoing basis, this event will be a sliding scale community event welcome to ALL. Donations (suggested $10-$30) will be collected at check in.

PLEASE NOTE: Workshops are subject to late cancel and no-show fees. If you sign up and are unable to attend, please remove yourself from the class.
