Meet HYA’s Newest Teacher: Lily

By November 30, 2024December 27th, 2024No Comments

Many of you know Lily Hambrick from the front desk, where she’ll still be there to greet you as you walk in. But now, she’s also stepping into the role of a teacher, holding space for you in a new way!

Lily is a vibrant 26-year-old from North Georgia who loves spending her time outdoors, hiking, camping, climbing, and swimming with Moose, her adorable Boykin Spaniel. An accomplished gymnast, Lily moved to Asheville in December 2022. She began her yoga journey in April 2023, started working at our front desk in July 2023, and a year later, she completed her 200-hour Vinyasa/Ashtanga teacher training in Bali, Indonesia. Shortly after returning from her travels, she began teaching Vinyasa and continues to deepen her love for yoga every day.

Lily is excited and honored to teach trauma-informed Vinyasa classes that feature fun music and unique flows!

From Lily:
“Like many of you, yoga saved my life. A regular asana practice transformed my reality, allowing me to experience a regulated state of being. Before discovering yoga, I had no idea I could create that sense of calm and control for myself. It’s a beautiful journey to embrace my role as a creator and embody that realization.

As a former level 7 gymnast who faced a back injury at 12 and as an ex-gymnastics coach, becoming a yoga teacher feels like my true calling. These experiences have prepared me for this path—my Dharma!

I am thrilled to grow alongside all of you here at HYA as I aspire to become a licensed psychotherapist and a yoga therapist. Your support has shown me the true essence of yoga, and for that, I am deeply grateful. Thank you for inspiring me to be a teacher! I can’t wait to see you in the hot room soon!”
